take me to another place, take me to another land

Dragon Con flew into Atlanta this past weekend, long gone are those days, instead Naoya and I went to Chattanooga to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. We tooled around on Saturday, grabbed a bite to eat, and went back to the hotel to take a disco nap. I woke up with a sore throat and my nose felt like I had been up doing blow for a 5 day binge and was just starting to crash. We ended up spending most of the time in our hotel room watching Venus and Serena duke it out, eating crackers, spraying vitamins in our mouths and drinking mass amounts of gatorade.

We wandered through the Aquarium early on Sunday morning, which is the best time to go. Otherwise, you'll spend most of your time pushing past all the inattentive parents and their counterparts to get a glimpse. Butterflies filled the butterfly garden , which was setup to look like a rainforest. The fish petting exhibits I skipped, terrified of all the germs floating around.

They recently opened up a few new museums, which we unfortunately missed due to my being indisposed. Chattanooga has installed numerous art pieces throughout the Aquarium area, there is a pylon of paper, that’s about 3 stories high, Naoya was itching to light it on fire like a burning man pire, and the cats that look like they’re made out of poo and some sort of angel sculpture, which seemed to have egyptian influence with it's foot forward stance.

It was fun to get out of town, if only to lay around in a big bathtub and dark room for most of it.

You can view all the photos from the trip here

Off the subject, I still need to pick up monster from the vet and bury him, this is a really evil procrastination, not wanting to deal..uhg
